About Me

My goal is to get injured patients of all ages back to playing sports by delivering the highest quality care and combining nonoperative and modern surgical techniques. My practice expertise includes the minimally invasive and reconstructive treatment of the shoulder, elbow, hip, knee and ankle. As a former collegiate athlete, I have a unique understanding of the challenges and demands encountered by athletes at all levels and ages.

I am a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine and shoulder surgery. I am board certified in orthopedic surgery and received subspecialty boards certification in sports medicine.

I am a former assistant team physician for the National Football League (NFL) New York Giants. During my surgical residency and fellowship, I was involved in the care of players on the New York Mets, New York Rangers, New York Knicks, New York Red Bulls, the Brooklyn Nets and the Professional Golfers’ Association (PGA). I have authored numerous peer-reviewed articles, including ones published in the Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery and Bone and Joint Surgery.

I grew up in a large family in the Midwest, playing college football and baseball. I received my undergraduate degree from Bethel University, in St. Paul, MN, my doctorate in cardiovascular physiology from the University of Minnesota and my medical degree from the Cleveland Clinic College of Medicine. I completed my orthopedic residency at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City, ranked the #1 orthopedic residency in the country. I furthered my education by completing a fellowship in sports medicine and shoulder surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and children, playing ice hockey and golf, fishing and being outdoors.
