About Me

Living with advanced liver disease can be debilitating, especially for those who may not have access to care. I take pride in advocating for my patients while collaborating with different specialties to deliver high-quality care accessible to patients in the Lehigh Valley.

I am a board-certified transplant hepatologist who treats patients with liver disease. I completed my internal medicine residency at Boston University and served as chief resident. I completed my gastroenterology fellowship at Yale University and my transplant hepatology fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania. During my fellowship, I also pursued a master’s degree in Health Science at Yale School of Medicine.

I treat a broad range of conditions, including nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), alcoholic liver disease, viral hepatitis, and autoimmune and genetic liver diseases. I am particularly interested in patients with decompensated cirrhosis and those with liver and biliary cancer. I also care for liver transplant recipients and can manage immunosuppression and complications that may occur after a liver transplant.

Ratings & Reviews

The Patient Satisfaction Rating is an average of all responses to the care provider related questions from our nationally recognized Press Ganey Patient Satisfaction Survey. Patients that are treated in outpatient or hospital environments may receive different surveys, and the volume of responses will vary by question.

Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5 with 5 being the best score.

The comments are submitted by patients and reflect their views and opinions. The comments are not endorsed by and do not necessarily reflect the views of St. Luke’s University Health Network.

Dr Tran is my hematologist and is very knowledgeable about my health condition. She has advocated for my care and has referred me to UPenn for a possible liver transplant in the future. I am completely satisfied and confident with her care.

Dr Tran is an excellent physician

Dr. Tran I have found to be a service excellence provider right from the start when I met her during an unplanned hospital stay. She outlined her assessment and then called me back after she consulted with the surgeon to update her assessment. A few call-in messages I left for her with her office personnel were always returned timely. My assessment is Dr. Tran is a star performer and her system is most fortunate to have her, as am I as a patient/client of hers.

After a stay in the Bartonsville hospital, my care was transferred to Dr. Ashley Tran. She and her staff have gone above and beyond, and my health care is a unique need. She has now placed me in the care of Dr Ringold for a procedure, but she is directing my care. I have complete confidence in her and her staff.

Dr. Tran is both knowledgeable and rather empathetic. She has made the process of going through my illness over the last year. Much much easier
