Karen I. Dacey, MD has been practicing general ophthalmology in the Lehigh Valley since 2011. She offers diagnostic and therapeutic services for a wide range of ophthalmic conditions including refractive error, dry eyes, cataract, glaucoma and diabetes. She specializes in cataract surgery using advanced medical and surgical techniques. She performs surgery at the Center for Specialized Surgery and is a member of the active staff at St. Luke’s University Hospital in Bethlehem.
Dr. Dacey earned her medical degree from the Uniformed Services University for the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland and trained in ophthalmology at the Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium, a joint program between Ft. Sam Houston and Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. She served on active duty in the U.S. Air Force as a comprehensive ophthalmologist. She is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
She is a Clinical Assistant Professor (Adjunct) of Ophthalmology at Temple University School of Medicine, Department of Ophthalmology and lectures to undergraduate medical students on ophthalmology.
