About Me

My goal is to provide care to my patients as though they were a member of my own family. I enjoy establishing long-term relationships with them. Our skin is our “window to the world” and has a huge impact on patient confidence. Being able to diagnose and treat skin cancer, as well as help patients with challenging skin conditions improve over time and see the impact on their self-esteem is incredibly rewarding.

I am a board-certified dermatologist and dermatopathologist practicing the full scope of care for skin, hair and nail disease for patients of all ages. My subspecialty certification in dermatopathology provided me the training necessary to interpret the results of skin biopsies to help come to the most precise diagnosis and tailor treatment to the needs of the individual patient.

Prior to arriving at St. Luke’s, I served in the United States Army for 10 years. I received my dermatology training at San Antonio Military Medical Center (SAMMC), where I was selected as the first chief resident for my class. At the completion of residency, I was awarded the Major David S. Berry award, given to the top graduating resident from all SAMMC residency programs.

I then went on to Fort Benning, GA where I practiced dermatology and served as the Chief of Dermatology. In 2017, I decided to pursue further training at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, completing a fellowship in dermatopathology in 2018. From there, I stayed on at Walter Reed on the teaching faculty for two years, before being honorably discharged from the Army in 2020. My military career also including stops at Fort Drum, NY and Fort Knox, KY. My military awards include the Army Achievement Award, Army Commendation Award with two oak leaf clusters, and Joint Service Commendation Award, among others.

I then worked in private practice for Anne Arundel Dermatology in Prince Frederick, MD before arriving at St. Luke’s.

I have authored several articles in peer-reviewed dermatology journals and presented at national meetings, including the American Academy of Dermatology Annual Meeting, the American Society of Dermatopathology Annual Meeting and Essentials Course, and the International Society of Dermatopathology Annual Meeting.

Outside of work, I love spending time with my spouse and our son, Jack, and our dog, Doug. Our family is thrilled to be adding a baby girl to the Braden crew in the summer of 2022! I enjoy traveling, cooking and am a live music junkie.
