I am a board certified diagnostic radiologist with certificates from the American Board of Radiology in Diagnostic Radiology (1987) and Diagnostic Radiology with Special Competence in Nuclear Radiology (1988), having completed a fellowship specializing in Nuclear Radiology.
I joined St. Luke’s University Health Network in 2006. I have been very active in Radiology and Hospital Medical Staff governance, serving as the Radiology Clinical Site Director at St. Luke’s Miners campus, Medical Staff President and Past Chairman of the hospital Board of Directors, St Luke’s Miner’s Campus. In these roles, as well as other hospital committee assignments, I have passionately advocated for quality improvement, patient care and patient safety initiatives.
I enjoy teaching and promoting radiology. I encourage motivated high school students to "shadow" my radiology workday to get a "behind the scene" experience. I’ve mentored scores of premedical, medical, nursing and physician assistant students and residents throughout the years. I find it especially gratifying to hear their success stories years later. To that end, as Medical Staff President I have promoted medical staff grants to qualified local high school students pursuing science, medicine, nursing, pharmacy and related fields. The eagerness and enthusiasm of these young people energies me.
On a personal note, my wife Mary Beth (we met in High School) and I enjoy traveling throughout this fabulous country, visiting friends and family (including my three adult children). Avoiding personal injury while downhill skiing and finding my illusive errant golf ball occupies some of my spare time.
