Sylva Zelena graduated with degrees of Physical Therapy from both Hunter College, City
University of New York and Zdravotnicka Skola, Brno, the Czech Republic. Sylva joined St.
Luke’s University Health Network as they acquired Sacred Heart Healthcare System. Sylva has
practiced at the Sacred Heart HealthCare System for over 12 years. Sylva has an additional
years of experience practicing at NYU School of Medicine/Bellevue Hospital and Madison
Avenue Physical Rehabilitation and Wellness Outpatient Clinic in NYC. Sylva has also has an
additional years practicing in the city hospital U Bratri Milosrdnych Brno, the Czech Republic.
Sylva is credited with developing the Women’s Health/Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation Program in
NYC, and she brought this technical knowledge to PA and developed the similar program at
Sacred Heart. Sylva has specialized experience obtained through working with both the
neurologically and orthopedically impaired population. Sylva has extensive experience and
training in the McKenzie Method, a specialized approach for spinal dysfunction.
