About Me

I enjoy all aspects of pulmonary and critical care medicine, where I can use my skills to provide quality care to our patients. I have held many roles at St Luke’s. I currently serve as director of interventional pulmonary and outpatient pulmonary medicine and previously served as medical director of various intensive care units in the network.

My clinical focus is advanced bronchoscopy and interventional pulmonary. I have a passion for early diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer, having established the robotic navigational bronchoscopy program at St. Luke’s. I also find it extremely fulfilling to treat COPD/emphysema patients, performing bronchoscopic lung volume reduction at St. Luke’s since 2020. Additionally, I am a designated Premier Provider for Zephyr Valve procedures, highlighting my commitment to clinical excellence.

I earned my medical degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. I completed an internal medicine residency at St. Luke’s University Health Network and a pulmonary and critical care fellowship at Virginia Commonwealth University/Medical College of Virginia. I returned to St. Luke’s after the completion of my fellowship training. I have received several teaching, research and quality awards. I am a fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians (FCCP) and a member of the American Association of Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology.

I enjoy living in the Lehigh Valley with my husband and two daughters. In my spare time, I am highly involved in my daughter’s educational, dance and diving endeavors. I am a Pittsburgh native and an avid Steelers fan.

I became Dr. Stahlnecker's patient because I was admitted through the ER w/a parainfluenza virus. I was on a respirator in the ICU. She saved my life, I am forever grateful.

I had a question about an incidental finding on an xray regarding my pulmonary health. I needed clear answers to my questions and guidance. Dr. Stahlnecker answered all my questions and listened carefully to my concerns. Then Dr S went above and beyond and informed me of a screening I am eligible for that I didn't previously know about. So in my experience, Dr S not only met my expectations, she exceeded them.

Dr. Stahlnecker is the best pulmonologist I have ever had. A wonderful human being compassionate to her patients & needs. I would not go to anyone else for regular pulmonary care!!

I had been complaining about running out of air while doing simple activities like walking. So Dr. Stahlnecker had me do a std. 6 minute walking test to see if my O2 levels dropped below 87%, which would qualify me for supplemental oxygen. I had to halt the test after 4 minutes due to pain in my knees and back and my O2 level at that time was still 90%. I will soon receive equipment to measure my O2 levels while I sleep to see if I need oxygen for over night. We also discussed my medications to find something much more affordable. It was a very positive appointment for me. Dr. Stahlnecker has always worked with me to try and get me the best care possible.

I have the deepest respect for my Dr. Trust Dr. Stalnecker's care for me 100%. I as her patient will always continue to see her. Also, her assistants. No person can change my physician,that includes my family. That is how strong I feel about my care.
