Marcel graduated from West Chester University with a Bachelor's of Science in Communication Disorders and earned a Master's of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Florida State University. She has obtained her Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA). Marcel has been trained and completed clinical positions in acute care hospitals, outpatient centers, rehabilitation centers, skilled nursing facilities, preschools, medical-residential facilities, and early intervention/home care. Marcel specializes in pediatric dysphagia (feeding and swallowing disorders) and Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU) following internships at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children and Women. Marcel has received the Award for Continuing Education (ACE) 4 times since 1995. She is a member of ASHA, PSHA (PA Speech and Hearing Association), is a member of the Executive Council for NESHAP (Northeastern Speech and Hearing Association of PA), and a committee member for the continuing education board for ASHA. She received honors of the association from NESHAP in 2012. Marcel is a guest speaker for the pediatric dysphagia track graduate program at Bloomsburg University. Marcel has presented oral seminars and poster sessions at both national and state conventions on pediatric feeding and swallowing disorders in early intervention.
