About Me

I take great pride and pleasure in treating children who have gastroenterological complaints. Children who feel sick need a holistic approach to all symptoms which impair their ability to be kids! I will evaluate and diagnose their GI condition and implement a treatment plan to get them feeling well again.

I am very skilled at handling functional abdominal pain and implementing 504 plans in the school. You can count on me to coordinate patient care needs and referrals to other healthcare professionals, therapists, schools, and child advocates as needed.  I enjoy educating patients on methods and strategies to deal with presenting health problems and prevention of potential health difficulties. I enjoy working with the entire family.

I graduated from Widener University with a Master of Science in Nursing in Burns, Emergency and Trauma with a focus on pediatric trauma as a clinical nurse specialist and then worked in the emergency department setting.

I was a faculty member for the Emergency Nurses Association, teaching pediatric emergency medicine courses regionally on the east coast while working in the emergency department, and I completed post-graduate studies at the University of Pennsylvania as a certified primary care pediatric nurse practitioner. I am nationally certified in my specialty area and have worked in primary care pediatrics for 19 years, both in private practice and hospital clinics.  As part of my commitment to primary care, I was the ssthma champion in my practice at St Luke’s KidsCare and managed an asthma and allergy clinic there for four years.

In 2011, I became a certified pediatric nurse practitioner with a special focus on pediatric gastroenterology, currently in practice with St. Luke’s Pediatric Gastroenterology.

On a personal note, I love to garden and have multiple perennial and annual flower beds, as well as a large vegetable garden. I enjoy long walks. My husband and I like riding our bikes together along the Lehigh river. I have 3 daughters and a black lab, Luke. My oldest is a registered nurse, my middle child is a certified PA and my youngest is a health and physical education teacher.
