I am having Dr. Carolyn perfoem my rotator surgery and I feel extremely confidenf that he is going to help me recovery as fast as possible and have me back to work aa quickly as I can. Dr Carolan is one of the best Orthopedic Shoulder Surgeon's in the Lehigh Valley! I respect his opinion very much! I just wish there was something else that could be done to ease the pain. Dr Carolan keeps giving injections into my shoulder to help with the pain. I know over time that they will weaken my tendons!

I am still recovering from a meningioma, removed in Feb. During PT, around April, my left shoulder/neck/arm began hurting and had restricted mobility. Everyone had their own idea, mostly just to do more PT. I went to Dr. Carolan for an informed answer. He x-rayed my left shoulder & discovered a Bursar. He immediately gave me a shot of cortisone AND suggested PT for the mobility issue. My pain is much reduced, mobility is twice what it was, and I start PT on Monday. I am very grateful for the relief and to be able to use my arm without that breath-taking pain.

Listens to my concerns and answers all questions in plain English. He is courteous, friendly and knows who you are and why you're there before he walks into the room. Also, not eager to "over-treat". He has always suggests a first-step, progressive approach to treatment. Not quick to over-prescribe or suggest procedures. He genuinely wants to Identify and alleviate the cause rather that simply treat the symptoms. Good office demeanor and friendly disposition.

Dr. Carolan is an incredible surgeon. He has operated on me twice in the past eight months. The recoveries from these surgeries are long (Shoulder total reversal right shoulder 10/22) Rotator cuff left shoulder 5/23) He has a very specific and excellent protocol established for the recovery PT process. I had hoped to delay the rotator cuff surgery, but he wisely shared that at the time, the tear was repairable, but would accelerate to needing a total reverse if I held off. I am so grateful for his honesty and expertise.

Upon hearing results of my MRI I was sure surgery was going to be needed. Surprisingly Dr Carolen said no surgery was needed and recommended PT. Three months have passed and my shoulder is back to nearly full mobility. Extremely happy with the doctors decision
