Initially I saw two medical students who were very friendly and helpful. This was my first visit with this doctor and he was quite arrogant initially and obviously hadn't reviewed my medical history. This was not a typical experience with St. Luke's physicians. I am going to physical therapy and will have my follow up visit with him. Hopefully that visit will be a more pleasant experience.

This was my first appointment with Dr McCafferty to address my sciatica. He was very helpful and thorough with my exam and addressing my questions.he ordered the appropriate tests and therapy. I am very satisfied with my appointment and would recommend him to friends and family with orthopedic issues.

Dr. McAfferty is the best physician I've ever met. The amazing physicians that St. Lukes employs are the reason why I continue to choose them for all of my care. The brilliant physicians like Dr. McAfferty exemplifies the type of physician that St Luke's values.Dr. McAfferty diagnosed me without the need for advanced imaging and was able to treat me and give excellent and clear recommendations to avoid exacerbating my injury. He was punctual and personable and spent a lot of time with me.

I had severe hand pain and went to Urgent care the previous day. They did X-rays and said I had severe osteoarthritis of CMC joint and a partial collapse of the traparezium. I tried to get an appointment with Dr. Matullo who was not available but Dr. McCafferty was available to see me immediately. He reviewed X-rays and suggested I see Dr. Matullo for possible hand surgery. Dr. McCafferty was arranged for me to see Dr. Matullo within a day and provide meds to ease the pain in the meantime.

I was very pleased with the outcome of my visit with Dr Mc Cafferty. He explained the procedure step by step. He drained Bakers Cyst behind both knees. He also gave me a cortisone injection in each knee. I had complete relief of my symptoms. I haven't felt this good in quite some time. It really did improve my quality of life.

This was the 1st time my mother went to this orthopedic dr for her knee. They took Xrays right away and gave us 2 options. My mother chose infections instead of knee replacement. Everyone there was very helpful and courteous. It was a very pleasant experience.

Dr. McCarthy was very understanding of my long term back pain from an old injury. He ordered an MRI so that he could really pinpoint the problem that other providers were only willing to order an X-Ray.

Dr. McCafferty is a TEACHER and a doctor at the same time! He explains every test and tells you about the anatomy of an injury and how it occurred and what to do to get better. He truly cares about every aspect of his patients health physically & mentally.
