About Me

I have been practicing general urology in the Lehigh Valley for more than 30 years. During this time, I have gained extensive experience in the treatment of urologic diseases, including kidney stones, prostate diseases, urologic infections and cancers and erectile dysfunction. I am especially interested in the minimally invasive laser treatment of prostate conditions.

I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in the biologic basis of behavior from the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA. I graduated from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-Rutgers Medical School, Piscataway, NJ. I completed residencies in general surgery and urology at Rhode Island Hospital/Brown University in Providence, RI. I received the American Board of Urology certification in 1993.

I am a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a member of the American Urological Association and Pennsylvania Medical Societies.

My contributions to the community include support for the Scleroderma Research Foundation and Scleroderma Foundation. I am the past president of the Maimonides Society of the Jewish Federation of the Lehigh Valley and a board member of the Jewish Federation of the Lehigh Valley and Temple Beth El.

I also like to play squash, swim and read.

Ratings & Reviews

The Patient Satisfaction Rating is an average of all responses to the care provider related questions from our nationally recognized Press Ganey Patient Satisfaction Survey. Patients that are treated in outpatient or hospital environments may receive different surveys, and the volume of responses will vary by question.

Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5 with 5 being the best score.

The comments are submitted by patients and reflect their views and opinions. The comments are not endorsed by and do not necessarily reflect the views of St. Luke’s University Health Network.

Dr Gevirtz and the Urology practice has been a long term key to my health. I've had BHP issues for a long time and high PSA numbers that have been treated with care and rational testing to be sure that cancer is not happening. I trust them very much and would recommend them to anyone

Dr Gevirtz is a superb urologist which is why I go to see him. His staff is great. If I ever have to wait more than 15 minutes, it would be time well spent. The information we discussed was not easy to understand and that is because it is complicated. Dr Gevirtz embraces this complexity and helps to educate me about the ambiguity involved, which allows formulation of an appropriate therapeutic strategy. His profound expertise cannot be adequately captured in this simplistic survey.
