About Me

As a dual trained open vascular and endovascular neurosurgeon at St Luke’s University Health Network, I often see patients being frightened by their diagnosis.  It is my job to help educate them regarding their diagnosis and treatment options. Often there is not a single right answer for their treatment and we work together to find the right treatment for the individual. While I treat various intracranial and spinal pathologies, the primary focus of my practice is dedicated to treating disorders of the blood vessels in the brain and spine.  As such, I care for and perform surgery on individuals with potentially devastating diseases including aneurysms and vascular malformations. 

I completed my medical school at New York University School of Medicine and subsequently completed my residency and fellowship at The Ohio State University.

I chose my specialty for the opportunity to give individuals the best possibility of a good outcome. Whether it is treating an aneurysm before a life changing rupture or caring for the unfortunate stricken by cerebral hemorrhage my goal is to give individuals the best opportunity for a healthy and long life. 

When not at work I enjoy spending time with my family.

Dr Marlin was running behind but overall the visit was good. Dr. Marlin has been more than patient and understanding when dealing with my complex medical situation. He listened to my feelings and opinions on the situation and took what I had to say into consideration which is not always the case. We went over medications and the best ways to alleviate my symptoms. I would highly recommend Dr. Marlin to anyone needing neurosurgical care.

My first appointment here was to be with CRNP and Dr. Marlin. She was excellent and thoroughly explained everything allaying my fears. I never did meet Dr Marlin which I thought was a bit strange, although I know she had reviewed case with him prior to appointment. I can't imagine what he could have added as she was great and answered all my questions.

Everyone was very professional, courteous, and kind. Dr. Marlin saved my life. I am greatful that I went to a St. Lukes hospital in Coaldale, Pa. Then from there I was transfered by helicopter to St. Luke's Bethleham. I will forever be greatful for all the nurses and Dr's that helped me get to where I am today. I am almost back to 100% thanks to the team that I had

This was my first visit to review a MRI scan - Dr. Marlin was friendly, compassionate, and very knowledgeable - he listened and spoke with understanding - and authority on my issue that I found somewhat frightening - I left more positive and feeling more confident of the direction to take. I have deep respect for his opinions and will follow his advice...I do expect to have many more visits with Dr. Marlin but I can go feeling that I am in excellent hands. I will mention that the entire staff was professional and friendly - and that makes these visits less stressful and less fearful.
